The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has promoted Jwan Heah to Chief Marketing Officer with immediate effect. He will be reporting directly to CEO and owner Datuk Seri Michael Tio, who took full ownership of the MBR brand in 2016. Jwan is tasked with leading the organization in its renewed direction and marketing focused approach.
Jwan joined MBR in 2019 as the Director Of Business Development, bringing much needed client servicing experience to the 25-year old organization. In this role, Jwan and the team drove accelerated growth and achieved record revenues and profits within the first 8-months by revamping operational procedures, creating systems, improving customer service and increasing marketing efforts.
Moving to the Marketing Director role in 2020, Jwan and his team focused on building collaborations with entrepreneur circles and business associations whilst promoting virtual, digital and social based records to ensure the organization weathered the Covid19 storm.
“I’m enthused and very grateful for his opportunity, definitely looking forward to creating fresh campaigns for MBR and working collaboratively with brands in executing some extraordinary projects.” said Jwan.
“With greater autonomy and working directly with the owner will allow us to execute on his vision for the brand, and better serve our national record holders.” added Jwan.
In addition to Jwan’s promotion, former Sales & Marketing Manager Aaron Bong has been promoted to Deputy General Manager of Marketing in recognition of his efforts throughout the challenging period of 2020 and 2021.
In his new role, Aaron will be working closely with Jwan in helping brands to realize and capitalize on their national record achievements.
“We have a lot of SMEs in Malaysia that are doing remarkable things but due to the lack of marketing never receive the recognition and exposure they deserve. We want to be more than just a certification body and book publisher, we want to help deserving brands engage with their intended audience through unique ways and with an extraordinary message.” said Aaron.
