Apple and its partner in Malaysia, Switch, achieved a new milestone today when it launched the first ever Apple Partnered Co-Created Video for the Malaysian market. The video titled “Sampin Segera”, features a unique story written specifically for Malaysians by Malaysians

The video was developed by Cogent, a regional creative marketing agency, that was appointed after a pitch process. “Making this Apple commercial will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of my career, and I’m very proud of our team for crafting a story that’s local yet unique,” said Andrew Ang, Executive Creative Director for Cogent.

Together with Cogent’s production partner, Mastermind Group, the team persevered under challenging conditions caused by lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Production had been delayed for months.

“Once we got the clearance, we were able to quickly update the story with Apple’s latest products thanks to the close collaboration with Switch and Apple Worldwide,” added Andrew.

“Working with them has been a marvellous experience. Apple understood the vision for a Malaysian story and Switch provided valuable insight into the Malaysian market. It’s like working with a dream team!” Andrew added.

Lawrence Seng, Head of Marketing for Switch said “We wanted to showcase the advantages of Apple for Small Medium Businesses. While Apple as a brand is well-known in the consumer segment, they offer a big advantage for businesses too.”

“The advantages of seamlessly switching to different devices and platforms in the Apple ecosystem offers an unparalleled level of convenience,” he said.

Switch provides Apple business packages for Small Medium Businesses with 0% interest financing options up to 36 months. With the assistance of Switch Business Experts, businesses could get recommendations for devices and financing options that are right for their business and budget.

With the launch of this video, Switch foresees it as the beginning of many more collaborative efforts to produce videos catered to the Malaysian market. “Malaysia is a major market for Apple in this region. We aim to strengthen Apple’s market share here by making it Malaysian’s number one choice for tech devices,” Lawrence concluded.
