Festival of Lights can light up local businesses

Maxis’ Deepavali campaign spotlights local Indian businesses

Light up Possibilities, Maxis’ campaign is designed to put the spotlight on more than 100 businesses from the local Indian community during the uptake on pre-festival shopping with digital acceleration.

For the various businesses, there will be radio and TV ads on Astro Raaga and other Indian channels on Astro as well as virtual business cards on the Maxis website leading shoppers directly to businesses’ channels – all as an invitation to Malaysians to shop in support of these local businesses.

Further support and encouragement come in the form of Maxis and Astro’s YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels, all offering apparel, F&B, decorations, home items as well as arts and crafts.

Loh Keh Jiat, Maxis’ Chief Marketing Officer

“As a tribute to their entrepreneurial spirit and role in the economy, we are proud to play a role in providing small businesses with the opportunity to boost their livelihood through media exposure.”

“Blending technology and tradition, we are committed to enabling communities to always be ahead.” Loh Keh Jiat, Maxis’ chief marketing officer said.

The Maxis ad, touching on the ‘possibilities’, themed within the ad, is 6 minutes 12 seconds long and incorporates a music video – in a sense – towards the end reflecting the joy of the festival.

The first half, ‘Inaivom Inaippom’ portrays how the pathway of possibilities can light up the community when blessings are shared while the latter half is filled with the joy and exuberance of Deepavali – The Festival of Lights.

In addition, Maxis is also conducting a special Deepavali edition of its eKelas Usahawan programme for budding entrepreneurs at Menara Maxis in November with free digital marketing workshops to help them better grow their businesses while webinar sessions are ongoing.
