Mediabrands Malaysia has appointed of Fan Chen Yip as Chief Investment Officer of Mediabrands Malaysia.
Fan will be responsible for all legacy and new media investments within the group. In his role, he will expand the trading scope to adapt to the new needs of the industry and create opportunities to optimise business value for clients, with a strong focus on buying accountability and innovation.
Bala Pomaleh, Chief Executive Officer of Mediabrands Malaysia, told MARKETING, “We are delighted to welcome Fan to the Mediabrands executive leadership team and helm this critical role. His deep knowledge of our business and clients, coupled with his strengths in partnership will help steer us ahead of the curve. His experience across multi-faceted roles within the industry thus far will hold us in good stead as he works in collaboration with Mediabrands agencies and client leaders to advocate the right investment decisions for them.”
Fan comes with 30 years’ experience in the industry, most recently with the Media Prima group.
Initially he held the role of Head of Key Account Management, where he played a pivotal role to bring together various teams to deliver innovative solutions.
In his most recent role as Chief Operating Officer, Media Prima Omnia, he worked closely with the Media Prima Omnia CEO on the formation of Omnia and the closing of some of the biggest media deals in the industry.
Prior to that he was with the Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) group, initially as Trading Director, then CEO of Posterscope Malaysia in 2016.

The appointment takes effect in May 2021, and he reports directly to CEO of Mediabrands Malaysia, Bala Pomaleh.
