In a dazzling premiere at the World Travel Market 2023, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the ‘Meaningful Relationship’ advertising film, destined to captivate the hearts of global audiences.
Scheduled for global airing from November 6, 2023, to October 31, 2024, this cinematic gem will be showcased across offline and online media platforms, as well as TAT’s extensive network of social media accounts, including its 29 international offices.
Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, expressed the profound purpose behind the film, stating, “The ‘Meaningful Relationship’ advertising film forms part of our latest communication campaign to inspire travellers from around the world to come and engage in meaningful connections with every aspect of Thailand, from the local people and community to nature and meaningful, one-of-a-kind experiences.”
Journeys of Diverse Travellers whose Journeys Transcend Ordinary Tourism
With 3.37 minutes in duration, the thematic advertising film introduces characters from three countries speaking three languages – Korean, Portuguese, and French with English subtitles. For those seeking a quick glimpse, a 30-second cut version with dubbed English and English subtitles is also available.
The heartwarming narrative unfolds through the journeys of three diverse travellers whose experiences in Thailand transcend ordinary tourism. Beyond companionship or romance, their connections delve into the very fabric of Thai culture, intertwining with locals, communities, nature, cuisine, and the country itself.
Latina Woman’s Romantic Encounter
The first tale is spun by a Latina woman whose sojourn in Thailand begins with a chance meeting at a mountainside hotel. What initially hints of a romantic encounter, blossoms into a rich tapestry of exploration, spanning Pang Chang, caves, temples, and provincial festivals, offering her extraordinary travel experiences that forge a deep connection with the land.
Frenchman Immerses in Local Community Lives
Simultaneously, a Frenchman and his partner reflect on their Thai experiences through photographs and interactions with locals. Choosing to immerse themselves in the local way of life, they become integral members of a fishing village, preserving weaving traditions and sharing culinary experiences, deepening their bond with Thailand in ways they never imagined.
Korean Man Weaves a Story Of Connections Beyond Love
Lastly, the audience follows a Korean man on a quest to capture the essence of Thailand for his travel vlog. From boat rides to ancient temples, encounters with the white horse weaving community to strolls through old town communities, each moment weaves a story of connection that surpasses mere love, embracing the people, flavours, natural beauty, self-discovery, and places that inspire profound affection.
The film showcases attractions, landmarks, community-based tourism villages, and accommodation in Kanchanaburi, Chumphon, Nakhon Phanom, and Bangkok, offering a diverse and enchanting snapshot of Thailand’s treasures.
TAT anticipates the ‘Meaningful Relationship’ film to resonate with affluent travellers, driving a goal of 25-30 million arrivals and 1.5 trillion Baht revenue by year-end. With an eye towards the future, TAT envisions a total revenue of 3 trillion Baht, with 1.92 trillion Baht originating from the international market.
