Avengers:Endgame a ‘marvel’lous thing for brands to capitalize on

Advanced ticket sales for “Avengers: Endgame” have already smashed industry records, so it’s no surprise that the Marvel movie is expected to rake in nearly USD$300 million its first weekend.

Cinemas continue to add showtimes to meet demand, and tickets for the movie, the fourth in the series, are being resold for astronomical prices on sites like eBay.

Brands, naturally, are trying to catch a piece of the action. Here, a small sampling:

Audi
The luxury car brand, a sponsor of the film’s premier, released a digital short depicting Captain Marvel’s return to earth. The short ends by showcasing the brand’s new Audi e-tron, which will launch in the U.S. next month. “Avengers: Endgame” features both the Audi R8 and Audi e-tron.Play Video

Coca-Cola No Sugar
Coca-Cola and Marvel have paired up on an ad that airs in 57 countries. It stars a teenage girl, Vingadores, whose Coke gives her the energy to make the movie on time.Play Video

Geico
Even the gecko has superhero fantasies. A spot released this month follows the lizard down a city street where he spots an “Avengers: Endgame” poster. Suddenly, he’s the superhero, on a mission to save everyone from paying too much for insurance.Play Video

General Mills
Any customer who buys three General Mills products before May 22 can get a Fandango promotional code good towards one movie (up to USD$13 total ticket and convenience fee). To qualify, customers must take a photo of their receipts and upload it; they’ll then receive an email with the discounted ticket.

Mastercard, Marvel Studios and Stand Up To Cancer
Mastercard and Marvel have joined forces with Stand Up To Cancer in a PSA campaign that focuses on real-life superheroes: cancer survivors. It encompasses print, TV, radio, digital and out-of-home advertising, and was produced by L Associates, a Hollywood shop that focuses on entertainment brands.

Mastercard is also donating S$1 for every purchase of “Avengers: Endgame” tickets made with a Mastercard on Fandango.com. Up to S$500,000 will be donated to Stand Up To Cancer.Play Video

McDonald’s
Kids can get Avengers-themed Happy Meals through May 20. There are four different box designs and each includes a toy representing a character from “Avengers: Endgame.” Families can head to the restaurant’s mobile app to access seven virtual Avengers and see behind-the-scenes action from the movie.
