Three of the largest radio stations in Malaysia, Hitz, ERA and MY have been renamed to Lazada1212.fm in conjunction of Lazada’s 12.12 Grand Year End Sale which kickstarts from December 10 – 12.

“With all the advertising, we wanted to do something memorable and disruptive that cuts through the noise. Thanks to the team at Astro Radio for being crazy enough to let us do this!”
This year, Lazada has also introduced an all-new immersive live stream shopping feature on the Lazada mobile app. The livestreaming format provides shoppers, brands and sellers with a richer experience, through real-time interactions, live discussions, product demonstrations and purchasing simultaneously all within the Lazada app.
Tapping into Alibaba’s wealth of experience, technology and insights, Lazada is now bringing the livestream feature to its platform as Malaysians increasingly embrace more digital lifestyle solutions.
Lazada Malaysia chief executive officer Christophe Lejeune, said, “The 12.12 Super Livestreams to digital audiences provides an experience that is both interactive and immersive and gives brands and sellers more authenticity by allowing viewers to be part of the process.
“Viewers can share opinions, ask questions and receive a response to them in real time. Interacting in this space is communal, much like having a discussion with friends. It’s the new word of mouth,” added Christophe.
During the livestreams, viewers can redeem exclusive vouchers, comment and send emoticons as well as share links to the livestream feed with their friends.
Last year, Lazada Group raked in over RM1 billion in gross merchandise value for its 12.12 Grand Finale Sale.
They also released a statement last year stating that the 12.12 sales figure was more than double that achieved in 2017 and also shattered the 11.11 sales record of RM514 million.
Introduced on Dec 12, 2012, the Lazada Online Revolution was aimed at encouraging consumers to experience the convenience and value of shopping online.
