CelcomDigi Bhd hosted its initial 2024 instalment of the MY5G CEO Series, bringing together a diverse group of industry leaders and decision-makers on Thursday.
It discussed the potential created by the integration of 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing in propelling the evolution and expansion of Malaysian businesses
The session provided practical insights into the potential of 5G for Malaysian enterprises to foster innovation, spur growth, and succeed in the digital era.
CelcomDigi said it underscores the significance of establishing a strong ecosystem involving stakeholders from various sectors for the success of 5G implementation.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo urged industry players to engage in strategic collaborations and reiterated the government’s vision for advancing towards a digitalized nation.
“We have seen many successful partnerships driving 5G development in the country. We must continue to forge ahead, to push for greater adoption.
“This transformative journey is critical to our national survival if we want to remain relevant and competitive.
“The journey towards harnessing the full benefits of 5G cannot be undertaken by the government alone,” he added.
Gobind emphasised that as significant stakeholders across diverse sectors, industry players can witness the acceleration of 5G adoption in numerous Malaysian businesses and industrial sectors through close partnerships with government entities.
CelcomDigi deputy chief executive officer Albern Murty said 5G has the potential to significantly impact the realisation of enterprise applications.
“It gives an ‘industrial Internet’ opportunity, having the ability to connect numerous machines and applications to cloud and AI-powered services.
“We believe strategic partnerships to be transformation accelerators and is the reason we gather decision-makers across industry verticals to share actionable insights and create an environment conducive for potential collaboration.”
He added that with their inclusive approach to 5G, CelcomDigi will persist in establishing new avenues to promote 5G adoption and develop solutions that benefit all sectors of society, including consumers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enterprises, in alignment with Malaysia’s digital aspirations.
CelcomDigi plans to organise two additional sessions as part of the second instalment of its MY5G CEO Series this year, featuring prominent speakers from top technology firms like ZTE and Huawei.
