VMLY&R Indonesia names new CCO

VMLY&R has appointed Din Sumedi as chief creative officer for Indonesia. Sumedi was most recently chief creative officer at Ogilvy before leaving the agency last September after a four and a half years.

Originally from Singapore, Sumedi has spent over a decade in Indonesia. He was also chief creative officer at the Jakarta office of Lowe & Partners.

His mandate includes driving creative excellence, while building and leading the agency’s creative team. He will be based in Jakarta and report to VMLY&R Indonesia managing director Mudit Trivedi.

Speaking about the appointment, Trivedi said: “We are delighted to welcome Din to the VMLY&R team. This is an exciting time for the agency in Asia as we continue to ramp up our capabilities across the region – which all starts with hiring the best people.

“Din is a digital veteran in Indonesia, who has a strong understanding of the market and the culture here, and we look forward to the energy and ideas he will bring to the table.”
