Sutapa Bhattacharya, Head of Knowledge and Strategy at Leo Burnett Malaysia is joining her client Tenaga Nasional (TNB) as its General Manager of Corporate Strategic Communications this Wednesday (November 22).
During her time at Leo Burnett Malaysia, she was also part of the agency team on new business wins and its award-winning streak.
Rohan Korde, Strategy Lead for Wavemaker, Group M in Mumbai, writes, “Sutapa is an institution by herself in the strategic planning ecosystem in Malaysia. She belongs to a rare breed of communication planners who are razor sharp business evangelists in disguise. She has her most astute finger on the pulse of increasingly amoebic consumer behaviour and yet, she operates with this almost ‘defiant’ ability to keep things amazingly simple.”
Nura Yusof, who worked with her in Leo Burnett and now Planning Director at McCann Malaysia, adds, “As a boss, I credit her for allowing me to explore the different aspects of communications strategy while still being ever mindful of the big picture. And that is her forte; her ability to see the big picture. Working with her means paying very close attention to the details, uncovering the insights useful in propelling the client’s business forward. Solid, smart solutions is what you’ll always get when you have her on your team.”
“We would like to thank Sutapa for 14 years with us,” said Andrew Leong, Managing Partner at Leo Burnett Malaysia. “We wish her nothing but the best in her new venture on the client side. These changes are also part of a broader expansion plan within the agency, we have restructured our strategic unit to focus on business verticals as well as horizontal specialisation.”
