MDA offers honorary advisor role to industry veteran Harmandar Singh

The Malaysian Digital Association (MDA) has offered the post of Honorary Advisor to veteran adman and industry expert Professor Harmandar Singh.

Well known for his wealth of experience in the advertising industry the position would be for two terms starting January 2020 to December 2021 with an option for renewal by the council.

The founder of Sledgehammer Communication is a brand communications guru, writer, academic and exco member of Mercy Malaysia and is well known for playing multiple roles.

To quote the esteemed man, “I may wear many hats but only one turban!”

The position is a voluntary one.

MDA president Serm Teck Choon said that Professor Ham was the right man for the role.

As one of the key industry bodies in Malaysia focusing on the Digital Media and Advertising Industry, being an Honorary Advisor to MDA provides an opportunity to help shape the industry.

“Founded in 2009, MDA plays a crucial role in unifying all sectors involved in the various aspects of digital media and advertising. As one of the key industry bodies in Malaysia, we invited Professor Ham as an honorary advisor to MDA to help shape the industry

“Professor Ham is an industry veteran with relevant experiences and insights and he would be the perfect person to help provide professional support for the betterment of the industry.

“We believe we can work with Prof Ham to closely secure the long-term interest of the digital media and advertising industry in Malaysia.

The MDA is managed by an elected Council consisting of a President and
12 Council Members. The 12 Council Members represents media/publishers and services/specialists’ companies equally.

MDA plays a role in unifying all sectors involved in the various aspects of digital media and advertising as a profession and as a business, thereby representing and securing the long-term interest of the digital publishing and advertising industry in Malaysia.
