Major OOH players in Malaysia merge

Kinetic

Roy Sudipto(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – Kinetic Malaysia, a company under media specialist agency tenthavenue, has entered a partnership with Executor to form a new Out-of-Home entity in Malaysia effective from June 1, 2016.

The new entity will combine the clients, staff, data and technology from both agencies and will continue to trade in the market under the Kinetic label.

The combined entity will be headed by Executor’s founder & CEO, Peter Choo.

Having served as the CEO for outdoor digital network PowerScreen for five years, Peter went on to start up the OOH media agency, Executor in 2007. In his new role, Peter will report to Sudipto Roy, tenthavenue’s CEO for Developing Markets, who is personally overseeing the partnership and the subsequent integration into the broader Kinetic family.

Roy Sudipto, tenthavenue’s CEO for Developing Markets shared that the partnership was a perfect fit as they were on the lookout for an ‘agile and nimble company’ to take their OOH offerings to greater heights.

“The intent is to create an organization which will take the lead in modernizing the OOH industry in Malaysia and you should expect exciting developments around measurement and integration with mobility and social interaction. In the near future, we want to be known for delivering On-the-Move Audiences and not just Out-of-Home media.” added Roy.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
