(marketingmagazine.com.my) – The Livescape Group today made a bold move by being the first live events organisers in the country to abolish its complimentary guest list offering. Guests of Livescape’s requesting for complimentary tickets or entry will now be required to make a minimum compulsory donation of RM50 at the door at all its future events, with all proceeds going to various charitable foundations.

This new policy also takes effect for its events in Singapore and Indonesia. The Livescape Group operates in the three countries in Southeast Asia.

Traditionally, event organisers tend to provide a limited number of free entries and tickets to its guests via a “guest list”. This could range from 200 tickets to up to 2,000 tickets for larger scale festivals.

Since its inception, seven years ago, the company has given out close to 24,000 complimentary tickets via its guest list which equates to a potential sale value of RM3.3 million.

“We are a passionate company and we work very hard to put together shows that fans would remember for a life time. But with great shows, there is also a demand from fans for free tickets. While we do not wish to profit from these free tickets, we feel that it is only right that the less fortunate benefit from this,” ” Iqbal Ameer, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Livescape Group
Iqbal who is also the Secretary of ALIFE, an NGO representing event organisers in the country added that the move was the group’s way of giving back to the community and hopes that the move would inspire other event organisers to follow suit.

This new procedure was first implemented during Livescape’s recently concluded Rockaway Fest which was held at the Sepang International Circuit on October 29 and Extreme Park Bukit Jalil on November 19.

Both festivals raised a total of RM7,888 from its guest list guests with proceeds going to ANGSANAcare, a non-governmental organisation providing complementary palliative care services to underprivileged children and their families in Malaysia.
