The health and safety of our community, our staff and attendees are our main priority for all our events.
We are monitoring the evolving situation and seeking expert advice on a daily basis.
We have also been working closely with MERCY Malaysia, world’s leading medical relief NGO in the Global South, on precautionary steps.
We had an event on 20.02.2020 where we had a MERCY Malaysia mobile screening unit, with doctor on standby, to check on attendees.
In view of the current Covid-19 crisis, we have restructured the APPIES Malaysia Marketing Awards proceedings as follows:
1. The APPIES Malaysia judging and presentation sessions will now be held as closed door events involving only the judges and presenters who will be pre-screened. There will be no public audience at these sessions on April 10.
2. Winners wil be announced on May 14 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre during a early event involving Buka Puasa, 7.00pm-9.30pm (prayer times have been factored into the programme).
3. All presenters, judges and attendees will not be allowed to attend if they have traveled overseas two weeks prior to event date, unless cleared by MERCY Malaysia at entrance.
We have the mandatory hygienic measures in place with regards to hand sanitisers, deodorisers and disinfectant sprays (like the ones used in aircraft) plus face masks. Our seating arrangements are also wide and open with proper ventilation flow and allows social distancing.
Our primary focus continues to be creating a safe space where our community can come together to learn, and recognise award-wining work.
