Former Ogilvy Malaysia CCO Gavin Simpson moves to TCP-TBWA\Indonesia

Gavin Simpson has been appointed as the chief creative officer at TCP-TBWA\Indonesia. He joins after a long innings with Ogilvy. He left as chief creative officer of the agency’s Malaysia operations in April last year. 

Simpson has worked across the region for agencies like Naga DDB, Y&R Malaysia and Leo Burnett Indonesia. At TBWA Indonesia, apart from being in charge of the product, Simpson will also be responsible for developing and training the agency’s talent. 

Speaking about Simpson’s appointment TBWA\Worldwide chief creative officer Chris Garbutt said: “Gavin is an exciting hire. His reputation is impressive, he is tenacious and he’s a fighter, constantly challenging the status quo to ensure brands he works on are creating an impact. 

“He is a phenomenal talent and I’m looking forward to working with him again”

Simpson added: “I’ve long admired TBWA\ and the work they do. I can’t wait to wear my pirate patch and disrupt market conventions. I’m very excited to be part of the incredible team in Jakarta.” 

TCP-TBWA\Indonesia CEO Saumyajit Banerjee said: “Indonesia is dynamic market fuelled by young creative talent shaping the landscape of our industry. It’s a land of possibilities and home to disruptive brands like Gojek, Cek-aja, Traveloka.
