DENTSU CREATIVE (DC) has announced the launch of its brand-new music video production called Platform Heels by the band, The Peachskins.
The entertainment industry has seen significant growth in recent years, with the rise of digital platforms and the increasing popularity of streaming services.
DC recognizes the potential of this market and has decided to expand its business to tap into this growing creative industry. This step marks a significant milestone for the company as it expands its portfolio of services to meet the changing needs of the market.
Since its launch in December 2022, DC has been expanding its capabilities into areas of ‘modern creativity’ like Earned Influence, Experience and Entertainment. These new capabilities are to unlock the power of creativity to affect real impact by ‘Creating Culture’, ‘Changing Society’ and ‘Inventing the Future’.
One of the key focuses of DC’s Entertainment ambition is to help homegrown music talent to package their music & their brand in a way that resonates with the culture yet keeps the musicians’ identity and intent undiluted.
Kunal Roy, Chief Executive Officer – DENTSU CREATIVE Malaysia said, “We are thrilled to announce our entry into the entertainment industry with the launch of The Peachskins’s music video. This is special because we are using our natural creative & strategic capabilities to brand and story Malaysia’s local musicians & artists.
It’s doubly special because we’re debuting the initiative by launching our very own DC talent, Rafique, who is the frontman & lead singer of The Peachskins.
Music is just the beginning of our journey, soon we’ll be launching other sectors of Entertainment, so watch this space.”
While The Peachskins isn’t new to the Malaysian music scene, they only began turning heads when they made headlines last year for their controversial guerilla style approach in promoting their album ‘ARE YOU OKAY?’.
It earned praise from NME Asia who described it as ‘a stroke of marketing genius’. The band’s flare for creativity made them a natural fit for this pilot project.
The Peachskins’s Frontman, Rafique Ramleh added “The fact that a creative giant like DENTSU CREATIVE were venturesome in presenting a once in a lifetime opportunity to a couple of kids from Subang Jaya to bring our creative vision into life is unimaginable.
Something that is as simple as a curation of a music video can draw out a lot of growth from a new artist, yet we find it daunting to try and pull it off ourselves. So, having the ability to be on the set and getting to shoot this music video that we’ve been fantasizing about was both an experience and an education.
We hope other budding artists’ out there will have a chance to explore their creative journey with DC in the near future.”
With DC’s respected reputation of excellence amongst the creative industry together with the agency’s expertise and resources, DC Entertainment is looking towards a successful entry into the entertainment industry.
DC also plans to leverage on its existing client base and network connection to further promote its new venture and expand its reach in the entertainment industry.
