(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – Andrew Lee ascends to the role of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Malaysia (4As) Vice President following the resignation of Irene Wong.
Lee has served on the 4As Council for more than four years. He was also the Organising Chairman of the Putra Brand Awards for the last two years, and will serve in the same capacity this year.
“Andrew is very conscientious, supportive, committed, and dedicated to the 4As, a valuable asset that makes him the right candidate for this role,” says Dato’ Johnny Mun, 4As President.
“He will also be integral to meeting the five objectives of the 4As working jointly with other Council members.”
Lee is the managing director of Havas Worldwide Kuala Lumpur and has been in the advertising industry for more than 25 years.
He also serves as the deputy chairman of the Advertising Standards Advisory (ASA) of Malaysia.
Wong tendered her resignation as 4As VP due to her work commitments as CEO of Grey Group Malaysia.
However, Grey remains as a 4As council member. She has been with the agency since 2004. The 20-year advertising veteran was elected as 4As VP one year ago.
“I want to thank Irene for her contributions as Vice-President, and wish her all the best in her professional career,” acknowledges Mun.
For the past year, the 4As has been actively working with the President, CEO, Council members and relevant associations and government agencies to realise the Five Pillars that define the principal objectives of the association.
As the voice of the industry, the 4As is dedicated to providing industry guidance and leadership, raise standards and professionalism, foster continuous professional development for the attraction and retention of agency talent, promote commercial creativity and its effectiveness, and serve as the Government’s principal information source on advertising matters.
“It is a privilege to work alongside industry veterans in uplifting creativity, relevance and productivity, particularly so as advertising is being transformed across all disciplines,” states Lee.
“My personal quest is to engage proactively with the 4As members to promote the genuine value of creative agencies.”
This year, the 4As launched the IPA Foundation Certificate to measure performance of young talents in the industry, and worked jointly with PPFIM on a new Production Agreement to safeguard the interests of creative agencies, film production companies, and advertisers.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
