Local telcos get on board The Star’s new video streaming service

(marketingmagazine.com.my) – dimsum, the latest subscription based video-on-demand (VOD) service by the Star Media Group recently announced a partnership with Digi and U Mobile to provide dimsum subscribers with free data to watch their favourite movies.

Through the offer, available to all Digi and U Mobile customers on qualifying plans, subscribers will receive:

● Unlimited access to dimsum for the best of Asian content from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and more;

● Up to 5 concurrent users across multiple devices

● Download for offline viewing up to 10 videos for 14 days from the end of December

● Multi-language subtitles in Malay, Chinese and English; and

● Parental Control option

Lam Swee Kim, Chief Marketing Officer at dimsum shared, “This partnership will enable subscribers to enjoy dimsum anywhere and anytime with affordable data plans. We are also able to reach out to our partners’ subscribers by serving the the Best Asian content.”

“dimsum offers very targeted streaming video-on- demand service that suits our digitally savvy customers, offering a good mixture of video content choices especially for customers who particularly love Chinese and Asian content. Apart from that dimsum’s simulcast offer, U Mobile customers can now watch content simultaneously as it is being aired overseas. U Mobile is always looking to work closely with more partners to enhance our customers viewing for Video-Onz™.”

dimsum is currently available in Malaysia and Brunei, with subscription priced at RM15 a month.
