Malaysian CMO of The Year and other award winners announced during the CMO Awards 2019, last Friday

The CMO Award winners 2019 pose with Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Gobind Singh Deo and CEO of Marketing Magazine Asia, Professor Harmandar Singh.

The CMO Awards 2019 was held at the Sime Darby Convention Center last Friday where 35 spectacular marketers were recognised for their outstanding achievements.

Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Gobind Singh Deo attended and officiated the awards night to show his support for the award winners.

During his speech, YB Gobind acknowledged the strategic role the Malaysian Marketing Industry plays in this increasingly converging industry and its important role as an engine of commerce.

“Marketing innovation is a game changer and marketers are more able to explore and realise new ways of reaching the consumer with new levels of creativity and innovation,” he added.

The CMO Awards, which unlike most awards, requires no fee to submit nominations, was judged by a panel of accomplished senior business leaders across marketing, media and digital industries.

Attendees of the awards night found several aspects of the night very special when compared to other award ceremonies. For example, before each award recipient was announced, the emcee described his/her accomplishments and mentioned praises they’ve received from their colleagues in an attempt to make the night more interesting with some added suspense.

Each award recipient was also given the opportunity to say a few words right after receiving the award, which allowed many of them to express their gratitude to those who have contributed to their success; making it a more personal milestone in their career.
