Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has announced plans to open 100 Jollibee stores in Malaysia in the next 10 years. This includes 50 stores in Sabah and Sarawak, Borneo Post reported.
Speaking to reporters in a press conference after the Jollibee Malaysia grand store inauguration day yesterday (20 February), Dennis Flores, President and Head of JFC International Business for Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia, said: “We foresee our expansion plan to not only boost Jollibee’s strong growth, but also contribute to the local economy and employment rate.”
He reveals there are currently about 45 staff in its Centre Point Sabah store (opened last year), adding that the company expects to hire an average of 30 local staff in every new Jollibee store, depending on the size of the restaurant.
On the significance of opening the Jollibee store in Malaysia, Flores said this brought the number of countries JFC operates in to 21, driving the company closer towards being one of the top five restaurant companies in the world. According to him, the company is currently the 11th biggest restaurant company globally.
At the same time, to share the joy of its foray in Malaysia, Jollibee donated to Caring for the Future Malaysia to support the children under its care.
