The Hong Kong-based airline made a mistake around New Year’s Day – briefly offering business and first-class tickets from Vietnam to North American cities for as low as US$675 (RM2,778) round-trip.

According to a CNN Travel report on January 4, Cathay Pacific made the blunder as the new year rolled in, and offered low prices for flight tickets that would normally set a passenger back tens of thousands of dollars.

Although it was a mistake, the airline announced via its Twitter account that it would honour the deal:

Travel portal One Mile at a Time had discovered a US$675 business-class deal from Da Nang to JFK Airport, New York.

The website claimed that travellers can find these fares on ITA Matrix or Google Flights. They can then book through Expedia, other online travel agencies or Cathay Pacific’s website.
