Education is the key to empowering women to transform their life stories. As a brand that prioritizes women’s empowerment, SAFI – Malaysia’s No. 1 Halal brand – supports Malaysian women in shaping their future through the Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship Program. The inaugural edition of this program has awarded scholarships to six students from 20 public universities (IPTA).
“The Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship Program continues the brand’s mission and vision as Malaysia’s No. 1 halal personal care brand, which has been in the market for over 30 years. We aim to remain a loyal partner to every woman, not just by boosting their confidence with SAFI’s specially formulated products but also by helping them unlock their full potential,” said Kazlina Mohd Kassim, Brand and Insights Expert at SAFI.
Launched in April 2024, the program received over 900 online submissions via the SAFI Scholarship website. Applicants were required to submit a self-introduction video, and 40 shortlisted candidates who embodied SAFI’s brand aspirations were invited to participate in an online bootcamp.
During the bootcamp, they were assessed on communication skills, creativity, and teamwork through a proposal preparation challenge. Six exceptional students were selected as scholarship recipients. Campus roadshows were also organized to promote this initiative to a wider student audience.
Kazlina added, “Our vision is to empower young Malaysian women from underprivileged backgrounds by supporting their educational needs at the university level. Through this program, we aim to provide them with brighter opportunities for academic and professional success.”
She further stated, “As a brand committed to corporate social responsibility, SAFI believes in giving back to the community. The Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship Program is a testament to our dedication to community development and supporting the future of the younger generation.”
Through the “A Week with SAFI” program, scholarship recipients were also given the opportunity to participate in educational tours aimed at fostering career development and personal growth.
Those selected to receive the Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship are Aishah Umairah Binti Ariffin from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Serdang, Alia Lai Binti Mohd Fikri Lai and Nurfadhilah Binti Ab Hamid from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Perak, Puteri Nurdiayanatul Akmal Binti A Rahman from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor, Nurul Fatihah Binti Suhaimi from Universiti Malaya (UM) Petaling Jaya, and Nor Alya Farisah Binti Nor Azman from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Bangi.
