Ogilvy Continues its Winning Streak as “Global Network Of The Year” for Four Consecutive Years
In a remarkable demonstration of creative prowess, WPP has secured its position as the “Holding Company Of The Year” at the 2024 London International Awards (LIA), while its agency network Ogilvy continued its winning streak as “Global Network Of The Year” for the fourth consecutive year.
Global Creative Giants Maintain Their Crown
The 39th edition of LIA, conducted over 10 days at Encore at Wynn, Las Vegas, saw WPP’s agencies across 27 countries amassing an impressive 251 statue wins, including 8 Grand LIAs and 93 finalists.
Rob Reilly, Global Chief Creative Officer of WPP, attributed this success to creative consistency, noting that it plays a crucial role in building brands.
CeraVe’s Viral Success Story
Among the standout campaigns was CeraVe’s ingenious “Michael CeraVe” initiative, which earned the brand the “LIA Global Client Of The Year” award.
The campaign, which cleverly played on actor Michael Cera’s name, culminated in a Super Bowl ad that revealed an elaborate social media prank.
The work, entered by Ogilvy PR, New York, secured an impressive haul of 3 Grand LIAs, 9 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze statues.
Independent Agencies Make Their Mark
Serviceplan Group maintained its dominance in the independent sector, claiming the “Global Independent Network Of The Year” title for the fourth consecutive year.
The network’s performance was marked by 11 Gold, 12 Silver, and 10 Bronze statues, along with 10 finalists.
Meanwhile, Rethink Toronto emerged as the “Global Independent Agency Of The Year” securing 2 Grand LIAs among other accolades.
Health & Pharma Sector Shows Strong Creative Growth
The health and pharmaceutical sector demonstrated remarkable creative excellence, with IPG Health securing its third consecutive “Global Health & Pharma Network Of The Year” award.
TBWA\Health Collective, New York, stood out for their work on Moderna’s “Ashe Versus” campaign, earning them the “Global Health & Pharma Agency Of The Year” title.
Production Excellence Recognition
The awards also celebrated excellence in production, with Prettybird named “Global Production Company Of The Year” while Mackcut secured the “Global Post-Production Company Of The Year” title.
Both companies were recognised for their contributions to standout campaigns including the viral “Michael CeraVe” campaign.
Global Creative Landscape
The 2024 awards saw an impressive spread of creativity across 45 countries, with 935 LIA Statues awarded across 29 categories.
The United States led with 277 wins, followed by Germany (85), Canada (75), the United Kingdom (67), and France (64). The competition awarded 29 Grand LIAs, 274 Gold, 300 Silver, and 332 Bronze statues, alongside 270 Finalists.
Barbara Levy, President of LIA, emphasised that these achievements reflect the industry’s commitment to creative impact, noting how networks like Ogilvy have demonstrated consistent excellence across regions, citing examples such as Ogilvy Taipei’s Grand LIA win in the Pharma & Medical category.
