Universal McCann Malaysia (UM)’s latest campaign with client Coway drives a much-needed CSR initiative during the COVID-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) period. The Coway “Stay Safe” campaign is giving away 10,000 kits consisting of hand sanitisers and masks to GrabFood delivery customers of selected eatery outlets within greater Kuala Lumpur.
The campaign aligns with Coway’s vision of being The Life Care Company, which contributes to the promotion of a healthy and happy life, while approaching customers and society at large with warm-heartedness and kindness.
Amit Sutha, Chief Executive Officer of UM said, “We have seen demand for e-commerce and food delivery increase exponentially as Malaysians seek to reduce risk of exposure and prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Coway recently donated 100,000 pieces of 3-layer surgical face masks to the Malaysian police force for their sacrifice and contribution as front-liners.
That served as the seed for this campaign idea to bring these necessities to all Malaysians through the Grab partnership.” The ‘Stay Safe’ kits are made available to GrabFood customers for purchases from Salad Atelier Cafe outlets in Sunway Pyramid, KL Eco City, Paradigm Mall, Intermark or The Weld and myBurgerLab outlets in Sunway, Seapark, Bangsar, OUG, Cyberjaya or MyTown (Cheras).
Amit added, “Grab was a natural partner choice for this initiative due to the wide penetration in KL, however the team had to navigate some challenges around food safety and resource allocation to make it happen in a timely manner.”
Kyle Choi Ki Ryong, Managing Director of Coway Malaysia said, “The most vulnerable in society are currently relying greatly on food delivery services for their daily essentials and to avoid being exposed to the virus. Coway’s mission of “Healthy Environment, Happy People” means we believe that a better world is possible when actions – of any size – is taken. The team at UM understands this intention, demonstrating agile thinking and quick execution to turn around the Grab partnership.”
The Coway ‘Stay Safe’ campaign runs till 3 rd April 2020, with kits available on a first-come-first- serve basis while stocks last.
