Paramount Propertys Merdeka Ad

This year top brands did not fail to disappoint with heart-warming ads celebrating Malaysia’s 59th Independence Day. Here is a list of some of the latest Merdeka ads we spotted:

1. Paramount Property

Paramount Property’s Merdeka ad cleverly ties in the spirit of national unity with the childhood memories of three friends. So far, the ad has received 3,000 shares, 4,700 reactions and over 511,000 views on Facebook. Bringing the childhood games featured in the video to life, the property group is also hosting a National Day event on September 3rd at its newly launched Utropolis Marketplace, giving the public an opportunity to take part in some traditional games.

2. Digi

Digi’s #BukaLaHati Merdeka ad has already hit 2.6 million views on Facebook. The ad which struck a chord with many Malaysians asks if you are truly free and highlights how sometimes our thoughts and prejudices may be holding us back from being truly happy. So far the ad has been very well received by Netizens, here are some of the Facebook comments posted in response to the video:

Launched yesterday, this Petronas Merdeka spot #takecare shows how we are connected to one another regardless of our background. The spot directed by Ismail Kamarul of Reservoir Production has so far received over 6,200 views on YouTube and over 52,000 views on Facebook.

4. Maxis

In line with the Merdeka Day celebrations, Maxis decided to work with five local filmmakers to create 360° videos to capture their view of Malaysia. The telco launched the first three videos from their Rojak 360° campaign last Thursday and so far the ‘Lost and Found’ film shot by the popular YouTube duo The Ming Thing is the most popular one out of the three with 111,025 views on YouTube.

5. BSN Malaysia

The banking group revived its popular Kuching Happy character in time for Merdeka Day celebrations. As part of the #KucingHappyPindah campaign BSN has been posting up several videos onto its social media platforms featuring Kuching Happy and asking for suggestions on which country he should move out too.

Viewers have been giving their suggestions. However, by using BSN’s product offerings as a plus point the famous cat seems more inclined to remain in Malaysia.
