Star Media Group left in the lurch after newly appointed CEO changes his mind

The Star Media Group Bhd has been left in the lurch as the man designated to take over as CEO from Datuk Wong Chun Wai has changed his mind at the eleventh hour.

The Edge reported that Wong Eng Teng, who is currently Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd chief operating officer rejected the post after receiving a counter offer from the foreign insurance company.

Wong Eng Teng was supposed to have filled the position vacated by Wong Chun Wai as The Star Media Group CEO and managing director in January.

According to sources, the group will be helmed by a special three man committee appointed by its board in the interim period.
