The government spent RM62 million rebranding Keluarga Malaysia, the Dewan Rakyat was informed today.
Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions), replied in writing that Keluarga Malaysia’s rebranding cost RM62,093,139.05, Malaysia Madani RM489,216, and Kerajaan Prihatin RM181,752.20.
As of Jan 30, the current and previous governments spent RM62,764,107 on rebranding.
The costs are based on roadshows from the ninth prime minister to the present one. “Because of the movement control orders (MCOs), the Kerajaan Prihatin, under the eighth prime minister, only implemented one programme,” he stated.
Aminolhuda Hassan (PH-Sri Gading) asked Armizan yesterday how much was spent on rebranding the government from the eighth prime minister to the present administration.
Kerajaan Prihatin was Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin‘s slogan, Keluarga Malaysia was Ismail Sabri Yaakob‘s, and Malaysia Madani is Anwar Ibrahim‘s.
