The Dignity for Children Foundation hopes to encourage a sustainable way of giving this festive season.
An NGO known as the Dignity for Children Foundation is promoting sustainability and green living with the sale of its eco-friendly ‘dignityPao’ packets for the festive season, Bernama reports.
The organisation said the reusable packets, better known as ang pao, was designed and manufactured by its transformational social enterprise, sew X dignity.
The enterprise is a platform for students to learn the arts and crafts of sewing and entrepreneurship.
In a January 9 statement, the NGO’s chairman and co-founder Rev. Elisha Satvinder said: “Here at Dignity we want to do our part in promoting sustainability and green living.”
“By upcycling the materials, Dignity hopes to encourage a sustainable way of giving, reduce paper use, and in the long run, eliminate paper waste.”
“These dignityPaos are ever-green and are suitable for all festive occasions and not just Lunar New Year. Furthermore, they are uniquely Malaysian and something that we should be proud to promote. We urge Malaysians to take this first “green” step, and make green the new red for the upcoming new year,” Elisha added.
According to the foundation’s website, the dignityPao are available for sale at RM88 for a set of 10 packets. These packets can be ordered on the website. Proceeds will go to support children’s education and the foundation’s Transformational Enterprises Programme.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
