Media mayhem and the return of Trapper!

puzzlepeople

(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – If you thought there’s no shortage of news on the Malaysian media scene these days, the incessant daily rumours will blow you away.

It all started when IPG Mediabrands Asia World Markets President Prashant Kumar resigned and Carat CEO Bala Pomaleh was announced to replace him as CEO of IPG Mediabrands Malaysia.

Then the musical chairs began as Carat GM Darren Yuen was justly promoted to CEO of the company.

The Media Specialists Association (MSA) also has had its share of musical chairs….

MSA President Girish Menon, who heads GroupM in Malaysia, resigned recently to be replaced by Bala as Acting President.

But now that Bala is moving to IPG, OMG’s Andreas Vogiatzakis may become the Acting President.

Will this happen?

Here’s where we come to the non-stop rumours.…

One rumour suggests Andreas, long time OMG Malaysia chief, is moving to head a new Havas Media Malaysia.

And it gets even more juicy: MediaCompete’s MD Neal Estavillo is going to head OMD Malaysia…

If that is true, what happens to the current and highly capable OMD MD Margaret Lim?

We must qualify again, at this stage, that all these are just rumours.

In the meantime, homegrown media powerhouse, Trapper finally unshackles from Havas Media by end April to return as Trapper Media Group.

After six years with Havas, Trapper has evolved into an integrated communications player and under its wings has Trapper Media, Trapper Interactive, Compass (Outdoor), Spark Xperiential (Activation & Events), SEED (Social & Digital content strategies) and OPLIFI (Collaborative Programmatic platform).

Stay tuned…
