(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific has appointed of David Mayo as Group Chief Marketing Officer with effect from March 1.
David will also retain his current position as CEO for Bates CHI & Partners in the region.
Commenting on David’s new position, Paul Heath – Chairman & CEO of O&M Asia Pacific said: “Having been within our ranks for more than 20 years, David knows our clients, our people, and our network.I can’t think of a better suited, more qualified, and more liked person to take the reigns of our reputation management as we continue to evolve and drive growth across our 37 offices in Asia Pacific.”
For the last 3 years, Mayo has been at the regional helm of Bates CHI & Partners, a sister agency network of O&M formed in 2013 as a result of a joint venture between Bates and CHI & Partners – one of the UK’s most awarded independent agencies at Cannes.
Prior to this David held a long term position with Ogilvy as President of O&M Advertising in ASEAN, leading teams across accounts including Coca-Cola, The Economist, and Diageo. His client work has also been recognised with awards at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, and London International Awards.
“The role of the agency continues to evolve as brands come to terms with the need to be more immediate and responsive to consumer trends. It’s our job to help clients transform and stay relevant” says Mayo. “At the same time, I think that with too much non-differentiated choice in the agency world, as an industry we make it harder for clients to find the right agency partner. So I’m looking forward to working with our leadership teams around the region to drive that differentiation, and ensure that O&M maintains its competitive edge in every market”.
