Terry is a marketing wonder in his own right.
He is also the head coach providing direction and developing the Courts team.
Terry led a phenomenal turnaround of its operations in Malaysia and entry into Indonesia.
“Self-help digital kiosks in-store, Click & Collect counters, QR codes, mobile apps, and free WiFi in-stores – these are some of the ways technology has breathed new life into our physical stores, creating a more connected and personalised experience for customers. Depending on the customer’s preference, these channels can work independently or together at any part of the shopper journey, from product research and price comparisons, to fulfillment and payment.”
In 2013, he published a book on his personal and professional journey in retail titled ‘Why Not? The Story of a Retail Maverick and Courts’.
He once said in an interview, “We must shape our activities around customer behaviour and be customer obsessed. Your management team needs a combination of scientists and artists. People who are really good with analytics, really good with being driven by this data and also people who can dream up the new and the different. Use rapid testing and failure until you find things that delight people.”
He shared a year ago, “With turnover just short of $800m, the next milestone is the $1bn mark. That will be a personal milestone, as the business I came into was around $50m at the time.”
A highly sought after international speaker, Terry will journey with you at the coming Malaysian CMO Conference on Oct 16: www.marketingmagazine.com.my/cmo2017
