iCanvas, a newly launched business unit by iMedia focusing on creative, content-led digital solutions, today announced it has signed an agreement with Maestro Swiss, the brand owner of Vochelle chocolates, to manage its social media and digital strategy implementation as well as Vochelle’s key media planning and buying in 2022.
Voon Tze Khay, CEO of iMedia Group said, “We are excited with the launch of iCanvas and our first contract with Maestro Swiss. The pandemic has changed in ways companies work and with clients and advertisers seeking for more integrated solutions and creative ways of working with media companies. iCanvas is primed to provide clients with out-of-the-box strategic thinking, creative and production capabilities to provide a bigger bang for their buck.”
“We are proud to be working with Maestro Swiss to put in place its strategy for its social media marketing and communication plans for 2022. Both companies are aligned with the objectives of developing a new brand image for Vochelle throughout the years and the upcoming Chinese New Year shall be the kick-starter campaign to roll-out the brand’s communications and marketing initiatives”, added Voon.
Evans Khoo, Head of Marketing of Maestro Swiss said, “Vochelle is a brand not only for gifting and sharing, but also for personal indulgence. We’re proud to be working with the team at iMedia to capitalise their digital experience and multiple platforms to connect Vochelle to its targeted consumers and also to refresh the brand to make it top of consumer’s mind.”
Commercial Director, Alwin Yew added, “We’re excited with the prospects of the brand. Vochelle is well-positioned to grow exponentially over the next 3 years. In a competitive yet exciting market, Vochelle plans to create unique offerings catered to the taste-buds of every Malaysian through its various offerings in flavours and packaging”.
The idea of iCanvas was conceptualised and incepted at the height of the pandemic in 2021 where clients were facing challenges with most economy sectors closed and needing a new way to market their brands online. By having an integrated digital media offering, iCanvas can seamlessly provide creative thinking with effective short-to-long term strategy planning, and pair that with the group’s strong content development and production capabilities; all these with the aim of providing clients with services that creates additional value for them.
iCanvas will be spearheaded by Lydia Kwan, who will take on the role as the Head of Strategy, and supported by Ken Wei, the current Chief Commercial Officer of iMedia Group for its integrated digital media business. The team currently has 4 individuals and is on the lookout for more to join this entrepreneur like-minded team. Positions are open for Social Media Management, Account Servicing, and Creative Design.
Lydia Kwan, iCanvas’ Head of Strategy said, “Over the past couple of years, we noticed a change in digital media consumption habits, and along with that, the way clients execute their digital campaigns. Traditional display banners or even “advertorial”-like branded content are taking a back seat as consumers crave reactive and engaging content that’s relevant to them. At iCanvas, we want to take advantage of our deep understanding of consumers, garnered through iMedia’s wide portfolio of brands, to help bridge that gap between clients and consumers in the most effective and interesting way.”
iMedia Group have been growing at lightning speed since its launch in 2020 and will continue to look out for potential acquisition of great companies and partner with great local entrepreneurs.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
