Go Bear

(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – Insurance and financial service comparison site, Go Bear, has appointed, Amelia Lim as its Head of Marketing to strengthen its presence in Malaysia.

Prior joining the startup, Amelia headed her own PR agency, Perseid Consultancy, which was acquired within 2 years of its operations.

Her experience of 18 years in the PR and marketing industry has enabled her to work with numerous brands including Harrods Café, The Butter Factory Singapore, Nikon and IZIMedia Group (MAXMAN.TV).

According to the company Amelia’s experience would be ‘vital in creating successful local launches and innovative marketing solutions in the content and brand activation space’.

The company has also appointed Iskandar Ezzahuddin as its country director in Malaysia.

Iskandar will lead GoBear’s business efforts in Malaysia, overseeing the company’s strategic direction while continuing to drive business and user growth.

Both Iskandar and Amelia played an important role in the launch of GoBear Malaysia earlier in May.

Since then the site which compares financial products like insurance, credit cards and loans, has garnered a 22% conversion rate from sessions on their site.

“The company recently launched an on-ground awareness campaign, “Bear-Jalan-Jalan”, where the portal’s mascot made it rounds around popular hangouts in Malaysia to introduce its services to locals.

Headquartered in Singapore since early 2015, GoBear has established its presence in Thailand, Malaysia and will continue to expand across Southeast Asia in 2016.
