Ogilvy Mumbai joins forces with CEAT Limited and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to build ‘happy roads’

In a bid to get motorists in Mumbai motor-ready, leading tyre manufacturer CEAT Limited with the support of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) went the unconventional route of repairing pothole around Mumbai city by recycling old and worn-out tyres.

The ‘CEAT Happy Roads’ initiative encouraged vehicle owners to donate their old tyres which were then recycled and used to make suitable fillings for potholes.

CEAT worked with Green Rubber Crumb to prepare fine quality rubber crumb from used tyres, which was mixed with the bitumen to improve its binding properties. The bitumen mixture was then utilised to fill potholes covering areas such as Bandra, Santacruz and Borivali.

In a press statement, Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy Mumbai, Anurag Agnihotri said the idea was eco-conscious, customer engaging and creatively led.

A video documentary was produced to capture the process of building CEAT Happy Roads earning over 800,000 Youtube views.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.

We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTTDOOHinfluencer marketing, retail, etc.

Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.

Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.

Collaboration is keypartnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.

Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
