The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has long been a bastion of innovation and inspiration in the marketing world. This year, it is set to elevate its offerings with the introduction of Lions Creators, a dedicated forum aimed at fostering collaboration and learning within the burgeoning creator economy.
Scheduled to take place from June 18th to 20th, Lions Creators promises a curated blend of exclusive learning and networking opportunities tailored for creators and professionals alike.
This initiative comes at a time when the creator economy is experiencing exponential growth, with projections estimating it to be a US$250 billion industry by 2023, and potentially reaching US$480 billion by 2027.
“With potential growth of this scale, it’s crucial that the festival plays a role in bringing together the platforms, the brands, the creators and the agencies, and a wider cross-section of the industry to have the most pressing conversations around how we co-create, collaborate and unlock greater value and progress for the wider industry in this space,” said Simon Cook, CEO of Lions.
“Creators are an increasingly important part of the marketing mix, and their presence at Cannes Lions has been steadily growing for many years. LionsCreators has been established in collaboration with creators from around the world who all see the value in convening, doing business and learning from each other at the International Festival of Creativity,” said Thea Skelton, VP of Events at Lions.
For its inaugural year, Cannes Lions has teamed up with Viral Nation, a leader in social-first marketing. Joe Gagliese, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Viral Nation, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the pivotal moment it signifies for the marketing industry.
Lions Creators will feature a range of activities, including exclusive LionsxChange Roundtables. These sessions, filmed in front of a live audience of LionsCreators delegates, will bring together industry leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the creator marketing economy. With a focus on collaboration and innovation, these discussions aim to address the evolving landscape of the creator economy.
The culmination of Lions Creators will coincide with the Social & Influencer Lions Awards Show, adding further excitement and recognition to the event. As Cannes Lions prepares to host this groundbreaking forum, it signals a new era of creativity, collaboration, and value creation within the creator economy.
