Your Maker, an advertising agency co-founded by creative Lee Tak Shune in 2018, is offering its services for free to one chosen business in an initiative called ‘Nak Kasi Cucuk Free Boleh‘?
In a cheeky call to action playing off the COVID-19 vaccination programme that started in Malaysia last month, Your Maker announced the initiative via its Facebook page, yesterday.
“In the spirit of vaccinations being carried out, we are offering a serious dose of unboring, cut-through, locally rooted work,” the post states. “Whether it’s a design revamp you need, killer copywriting, or a full campaign proposal, we’ll happily help – at no cost to you.”
According to Lee, aside from goal of supporting local business that might need the extra help, this initiative is also set out to “weed out the bad clients”.
“There’s nothing worse than working with bad clients. Agency folks talk about them over drinks, and it usually ends there. We hope this initiative puts bad clients in the limelight, and hopefully, out of business,” Lee told MARKETING Magazine. “Better work is produced when working with better people. We hope to identify clients that share the same philosophy as us and will treat us as proper partners – we are always as equally invested in their brand as they are.”

Lee also added that the business that is chosen for the this free initiative doesn’t necessarily have to be a company or brand but can also include individuals who are working on their personal brand such as comedians, and artists.
In April last year, less than a month after the first Movement Control Order was enacted in Malaysia, Your Maker rolled out an initiative called ‘Kira Dulu’ which called for consumers to pay for a meal or service offered by a small business and enjoy it once the MCO ends.
