Sandeep exits Zenith

 

 

Sandeep Joseph, Head of Strategy and Digital at Zenith Malaysia, has left the company with plans to start his own consultancy.

Sandeep was at Zenith for about 7 years, in different capacities. He led the agency’s push towards digitalisation, helping it win new business. With him at the strategic helm, the agency won over 50 local and international awards in the past 4 years. Under his charge, Zenith was the most nominated media agency at the Malaysian Media Specialists Association media awards for 2 consecutive years, and was amongst the top winners. Zenith was also the Media Agency of the Year and Mobile Marketing Agency of the Year for 2016 at the MARKies.

In recent years Zenith won several businesses such as BMW, SCA, Domino’s, Maybank regional and others. It also retained the PETRONAS account, in two highly competitive media pitches. Sandeep was the first person from a Malaysian agency shortlisted for the prestigious worldwide Admap Strategy prize, in 2015.

Prior to Zenith, Sandeep was Managing Director at XM Malaysia, and national head of Ogilvy Interactive in India. He had also co-founded his own digital start-up (eDeltaC) and sold it to Ogilvy in India, in the early 2000s.

While tight-lipped about his future plans, Sandeep mentioned “It’s been an honour and privilege to work at Zenith. I have formed lasting memories and friendships: within the agency, with some clients and some media owners. I personally owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Gerald Miranda for his unflinching trust and support.”

Referring to the pressures facing media agencies today he paraphrased Galadriel in the Fellowship of the Ring, “Our media industry stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the intentions are true.

“I am excited as I look forward to doing my bit to help re-think and revamp our industry model, as we journey through Mordor.”
