Reprise & TNB take Malaysians on an epic convoy for Hari Raya

Reprise Digital Malaysia, IPG Mediabrands Malaysia’s full-service global performance media marketing unit has released another film with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to commemorate the Raya festive season.

Titled ‘Konvoi Epik Fantastik’, the film continues the tradition of last year’s ‘Rumah Epik Fantastik’ which stole the nations hearts and won numerous awards including YouTube Ad of the Year 2018.

This year’s Raya film invites Malaysians to go on an epic journey that demonstrates the values of patience, respect and togetherness, and highlights the Raya tradition of visiting relatives to share blessings with one another.

Stanley Clement, Managing Director of Reprise said, “The team had an ambitious agenda to top last year’s Raya film which was itself an epic production. The idea to tell the story through a family convoy for their Raya visits allowed us to demonstrate many of the brand values that TNB stands for, and through this lens, showcase numerous scenes that are entirely relatable to Malaysians.”

The film is told through the eyes of a city girl named Nabila, as she and her family undertake a whirlwind Raya convoy to visit all ten of her grandfather’s relatives in a day.

The film is set in Perlis, with fast-paced cinematography, vibrant colours and rendering, and scenic shots of an often less seen state of Malaysia. The film ends with the message that family ties are strengthened through the long journeys you take together.

The film was directed by Quek Shio Chuan of Reservoir Productions. Since its release, the film has generated more than 4.5 million views on YouTube, with positive social sentiment.

Stanley adds, “Once again we are incredibly thrilled about the reception of this film. The tone stays true to the light-hearted TNB humour that fans have come to know and love, complete with the appearance of beloved cat Jero.

The Reprise and production team have worked incredibly hard to pull this together alongside the TNB team, and it has been an epic journey for all involved.”

Supporting the film is a web application called ‘Raya KonvoiGO’ which allows users to plan their upcoming Raya convoy with family members online. View the microsite here via mobile or tablet: https://www.rayakonvoigo.my
