A Game-Changer for the National EV Scene
Proton’s leap into the electric vehicle (EV) market is off to a promising start.
The company announced it has received 2,500 bookings for the e.MAS 7, Malaysia’s first national EV, just weeks after its official launch.
This milestone marks a significant shift in the automotive landscape, underscoring Malaysia’s readiness to embrace greener mobility solutions.
The Proton e.MAS 7 is available in two variants, Prime and Premium, tailored to cater to varying customer needs.
Both models boast cutting-edge features, supported by powerful battery packs—49.52 kWh for the Prime variant and 60.22 kWh for the Premium.
With a WLTP-certified range of up to 410 km, the e.MAS 7 is poised to deliver practicality and convenience, addressing concerns about range anxiety often associated with EVs.
In terms of charging, the e.MAS 7 supports 11kW AC charging and DC fast charging at speeds of up to 100kW, enabling quicker turnaround times for users on the go.
This aligns with Proton’s commitment to making EV ownership hassle-free and accessible to the masses.
Competitive Pricing and Launch Incentives
Affordability has always been a key factor for Proton, and the e.MAS 7 stays true to this ethos.
The Prime variant is priced at RM109,800 (On-The-Road, excluding insurance), while the Premium variant is available at RM123,800.
To sweeten the deal, Proton is offering an RM4,000 rebate for the first 3,000 customers as part of its launch promotion.
This effectively lowers the prices to RM105,800 for the Prime variant and RM119,800 for the Premium variant, providing an enticing entry point for prospective EV buyers.
Shaping Malaysia’s EV Future
Proton’s success with the e.MAS 7 highlights a growing demand for sustainable transportation options in Malaysia.
As the nation’s automotive giant, Proton’s foray into EVs is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility, inspiring both consumers and competitors to pivot towards greener alternatives.
The e.MAS 7 isn’t just a car; it’s a symbol of progress for Proton and a beacon for the country’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
With its competitive pricing, robust features, and impressive early bookings, the e.MAS 7 is set to drive Proton and Malaysia into an electrified future.
