Outdoor Advertising Association of Malaysia (OAAM) launches new logo in view of OAAM’s 25th anniversary
The OAAM 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) has taken place with additional spectacle as the group launches a new logo in view of the company’s 25th anniversary. The OAAM 2018 AGM was held at TPC Kuala Lumpur.
OAAM 2018’s new executive committee consists of the President, Henry K.O. Low from Spectrum Outdoor SB, Vice President Shukor Ariffin from Big Tree Outdoor SB, Honorary Secretary Muhamad Fariz Mustafa from Kurnia Outdoor SB, Honorary Treasurer YBhg. Dato’ Rosle Jaamat from Warisan Ads SB, Executive Committees Kevin Chang from Prisma Outdoor SB and Den Han from Gelumbang Jaya SB.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT), the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), and the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), OAAM is a constituent member of Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The group now consists of 33 key members from the advertising industry, some including Big Tree, Spectrum, Seni Jaya, Redberry etc.
Acting as the governing body for creative standards in outdoor advertising in Malaysia, OAAM strives to protect mutual interest of members within the said industry by working towards higher standards of market ethics.
In doing so, members of OAAM will promote and encourage design, manufacture, construction and use of effective mediums for outdoor advertising.
With this joint effort between government and key players in the advertising industry, standards can be maintained in order to enhance the quality of presenting outdoor advertising platforms while ensuring safety and efficiency of said advertisements.
This cause for concern was highlighted due to numerous reports of accidents and faulty billboards in the media.
Unregulated OOH has led to accidents on the highway, including one fatality reported in Malacca due to a collapsed structure.
Through this joint cause among key players, OAAM strives to enforce safety standards in ensuring the multimillion ringgit industry maintains its quality as well as efficiency in distributing advertisements to the public’s eye.
