After a marathon run, the partners at advertising group Spencer Azizul are downsizing and moving into a smart alliance with selected communications partners.
“The days of the full service agency have changed, and the dynamics of the business has evolved. We are taking that as a wake up call. These days clients are selective and seek specialization – one size does not fit all. We will make an announcement soon on our forward plans as the Spencer Azizul brand name has resonated with marketers for over 30 years,” said Chairman Azizul Kallahan to MARKETING.
Incorporated in 1985 and a member of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents (4As), Spencer Azizul is a 100% Malaysian-owned Brand Communications Company.
It is a full service agency offering integrated services across the full spectrum that spans conceptual advertising, strategy planning, branding optimisation, media purchasing, printing and production.
Headed by Azizul Kallahan (Executive Chairman) and Spencer Wing (Group Executive Director) the lean team’s driving force is Mohammed Iqbal who sits as the General Manager and Kient Wai (Creative Group Head) who whips the creative team in shape.
The agency was the driving force behind Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad’s creative ‘Kalau Nak Berjaya’ and ‘Sambung Belajar’ branded music videos by popular local artists.

After 20 years of evolving technology, shifting market trends, and adapting to changing consumer behaviour, the media landscape has nearly reached saturation.
We’ve optimised to the fullest, providing advertisers with abundant choices across technology, platforms, data-driven marketing, CTV, OTT, DOOH, influencer marketing, retail, etc.
Media specialists have diversified, but with more options comes the challenge of maintaining income growth. The industry is expanding, but revenue isn’t keeping pace.
Now, we’re at a TURNING POINT: time to explore and harness new sustainable revenue streams. While GroupM forecasts a 7.8% global ad revenue growth in 2024, challenges like antitrust regulation, AI and copyright issues, and platform bans persist.
Collaboration is key: partnerships that thrive on synergy, shared values, and aligned goals are becoming increasingly essential.
Hence, the Malaysian Media Conference, in its 20th year, has assembled the partners and players under one roof on October 25 for a day of learning, sharing, and exploring.
