Shades of Blue, one of the most critically and top rated new U.S. drama series, is coming to Universal Channel starting 12 April, Tuesdays at 9PM (HyppTV Channel 612).

(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – The intense, high-octane police series marks the return of superstar Jennifer Lopez to television drama. In addition to her lead actress role, Lopez also serves as the series’ executive producer, alongside Ryan Seacrest.

Highly popular in the U.S., Shades of Blue earned an early season two renewal ahead of its season one finale.

Among the series’ ratings wins include ranking Number One in its time period among Adults 25-54 – beating competitors CBS and ABC, as well as the second-most time-shifted new series on broadcast TV. It was also the #2 set-top-box video-on-demand performer among 28 NBC series this season, averaging 1.2 million views per episode.

Lopez stars as Harlee Santos, a charismatic single mother and resourceful detective at the heart of a tight-knit crew of Brooklyn detectives, led by enigmatic Lt. Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta, “Goodfellas,” “Field of Dreams”) who often leads the team to step outside the limitations of the law in order to effectively protect their precinct and their own.

As a big illegal job looms on the horizon, the FBI catches Harlee in the act and pits her against her own unit. As a newly turned informant, Harlee struggles to safeguard her on-the-job family and avoid arrest in order to stay with her daughter. Harlee engages in a perilous dance with her FBI handler, Special Agent Stahl (Warren Kole), who develops an unhealthy obsession with her. Meanwhile, Wozniak, acting as the unit’s patriarch, begins an all-consuming hunt for the informant. Pressure mounts as the crew struggles to perform their brand of street justice under FBI watch.

Shades of Blue premieres 12 April, Tuesdays at 9PM on Universal Channel (HyppTV Channel 612)
