An MOU has been signed between Media Prima Digital and Grab Malaysia to embark on a partnership to launch the In-Car Media Platform.
This collaboration will witness the installation of the very first Grab In-Car Media Platform in Malaysia, with its content provided by Media Prima.
With the aim to enhance the Grab experience, Media Prima Digital will be delivering various short-form content which are well-suited for in-transit viewing.
Passengers can now enjoy weekly dose of fresh updates on four dedicated segments; entertainment, lifestyle, sports and also news while riding with Grab.
“This is an exciting collaboration between Media Prima Digital and Grab. We’re happy to be able to provide some of our powerful content to Grab users out there.
“The way people consume information now can be from various interactive medium and Grab In-Car Media Platform is another way for us to reach to wider audience and strengthen our position to become first digitally led company in Malaysia,” said Rafiq Razali, CEO of Media Prima Digital.
From SAYS fun lifestyle videos to TV3’s news updates as well as in house talk shows like Kata Serasi, Grab users can now enjoy all of these content for free while en route to their destination.
Grab on the other hand will engage with its driver-partners and work with partners to ensure the maintenance of both the hardware and software of the tablets so that customers will have a smooth, informational and entertaining journey with this new feature.
Via this collaboration, Grab will also enable on-ground engagement between passengers and partner brands.
Grab says it will also share insights such as major hot spots to better understand the travelling patterns of Grab passengers.
Grab is evolving towards becoming a premier online-to-offline (O2O) mobile platform in Southeast Asia.

In addition to that, this also provides additional ancillary income for our driver-partners who are a fundamental part of the Grab experience.”
As for now, 250 Grab cars around Klang Valley has been equipped with the In-Car Media Platform.
Aiming to have more than a thousand cars with this feature by end of this year, both Grab and Media Prima Digital will be working side by side to provide more interesting content and features in the future.
