The #JanganKenaScam campaign addressed the surge in financial scams, with Malaysians losing RM804 million in 2022. Given 63% of the population encountered scam tactics, the campaign’s “”DEFEND! DEFEND! DEFEND!”” message emphasized never sharing passwords, personal details or trusting unofficial sources. The campaign saw 390,000 website visitors, 500,000 festival attendees and RM410,000 in media coverage. The National Scam Response Centre handled 66,997 calls and BNM received 317,435 suspicious transaction reports, reflecting heightened vigilance.
