Checking into AirAsia’s brand new office – Picture credit: AirAsia
This week we visited AirAsia’s brand new office, located roughly 10 minutes away from KLIA2. The 18,000sqm office space is home to over 2,000 of AirAsia’s staff or better known as Allstars. The company announced its new office christened RedQ, short for RedQuarters, late last year and in December they packed up their bags to move into their new home.
A trip up onto the elevator brings us to the main workspace located on the fourth floor. As the doors open AirAsia’s numerous awards are on show, reminding visitors and staff of their achivements.
Metals proudly on display
Entering into the main office space feels a bit disorientating, the scorching heat from outside is replaced with the cool blast of aircon against the office’s metal interior. Pockets of spaces covered in carpet grass bring the outdoors indoors, providing staff with a comfortable space to socialise and brainstorm.

Reminding AirAsia’s staff of the exotic locations the airlines flies to the airline built each of its meeting rooms to reflect the countries it covers.

The main meeting room with a wide mirror of the surrounding area. If you think this room seems familiar it’s where AirAsia’s viral mannequin challenge was filmed.
Encouraging staff to not only work hard but also play hard, RedQ is fully equipped with gym facilities for instructors to conduct various classes including yoga and boot camp.
Check out the gaming room complete with a VR set!
The one thing that surprised me the most during the visit is when I saw where AirAsia’s Group CEO Tony Fernandes sits. A simple workspace with no frills Tony sits together with his team surrounding him.
