Get to know the creative veteran that keeps on moving upward through vertical storytelling

Tay Guan Hin is no stranger to the advertising, marketing and communications industry especially after he made the bold move of leaving J. Walter Thompson (JWT), to start his own independent boutique agency, TGH Collective.

Considered a veteran creative, Guan’s move after 13 years with JWT has been met with self-made success which stems from a deep understanding that in order for a business to stay successful, business owners must stay one step ahead of its consumers.

Aside from that, Guan is also one of the six Creative Change Catalyst of the APAC Global Advisory which Guan describes as a refreshing role to take on, during an interview with Campaign Brief Asia. “I’ve always wanted to take this step to be able to experience another side of the business,” he said in the interview. “I am learning from the lens of a consultant that today’s leaders in organizations require innovation to stay ahead during this age of constant transformation.”

Guan has helped Shell, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott, P&G, HSBC, Unilever, and other global brands improve market share and solve business challenges. He operates well within this complexity always matching flawless execution with inspiring creative ideas, staying true to the DNA of the brand.

One of his most captivating offerings as a creative veteran is his take on vertical storytelling. A concept that was shunned less than half a decade ago, Guan introduces as the most effective tool for business to connect with their customers.

His skills and insights were recognized in Cannes Lions where he served as a Jury President, D&AD Foreman, One Show Judge, Head of Jury Asia Pacific Effies, creative innovator, and a tank mechanic.

Well-positioned as a thought leader, he is a sought-after keynote speaker in many global and regional conventions including Spikes Asia, One Show China, Brand Fest, Adfest, Brand Forum, AdStar, and Cannes Lions.
