UM and Allianz Malaysia share stories on protecting M’sia this Malaysia Day

Universal McCann (UM), IPG Mediabrands’ global media agency, and Allianz Malaysia Berhad brings together Malaysians from diverse backgrounds for a series of videos leading up to Malaysia Day.

The videos show Malaysians sharing their fondest childhood memories and personal experiences to reflect the true Malaysian spirit around the core theme of ‘protection’ – a value that is rooted deeply in Allianz Malaysia, as a company and through their commitment in services.

The videos demonstrate diversity through different lenses while showing the true meaning of a multi-cultural Malaysian.

Wong May May, Business Director of UM shared, “We wanted to inspire Malaysians by showcasing actual experiences of veterans and activists from different backgrounds and have them speak about their individual stories of sacrifice and aspirations for our beloved country. Through these personal conversations the videos weaved in messages of strength, unity and inclusion in a unique way.”

The videos featured notable pairings of veterans and activists including R. Nadeswaran, Miri Adek, Eddin Khoo, Brid Jen (Rtd) Dato’ Mohd Arshad B Mohd Raji, Haymasuthan Periasamy and CEO of Allianz Malaysia, Zakri Mohd Khir.

Each video raises profound questions and earnest sharing from each of these Malaysians with the conversations highlighting protection of access to education, unity, rights, heritage and culture.

“The three initial videos each cut off with a final mystery question, with the concluding video asking each pair what they believe is the most important thing to protect in Malaysia, and why. The responses from all were truly touching and gave all of us on the team a great sense of promise for our country,” added May May.

Slated to run across Malaysia Day, these series of videos are part of UM’s brand activation campaign for Allianz Malaysia. Audiences can expect airings of the videos across social platforms. There will also be an exclusive through partner Media Prima, and viewers can expect a special talk show on TV3 and 8TV.

The videos were conceptualised by production house RTV. The videos were released on the following dates:
Video 1 (Nades & Miri) – 30th August

Video 2 (Zakri & Eddin) – 4th September

Video 3 (Hayma & Dato Arshad) – 6th September

Video 4 – 10th September
