Who came in to work today?

MARKETING called up CEOs, head honchos
As 2018 just kicked in, with the hangover and festivities still around, we at MARKETING thought of nosing around a bit: to know the folks who trooped into their offices. The ones raring to go- and believing that work begins with the first day of the year?
There were quite a few, actually. Though, out of the 15-odd offices we called, about 4-5 CEOs were away.
On our first call, we discovered, fishermen battle has already begun. Mark Darren Lee, Digital Director and CEO of Fishermen Integrated, an award winning independent digital & social media agency, said, “I’m busy with work, kindly call me back tomorrow.”
Creative Republic, CEO, Esther Tan, we guess, was in early morning to set the ball rolling but when called back later, she wasn’t available in the office.
Moving down our list, we reached out to CEO of the established marketing communications agency, J Walter Thompson, Saurabh Saksena. We managed to establish contact with his secretary who informed us that he was flooded with meetings. As expected, at the start of 2018!
Publicis One Malaysia CEO, Tan Kien Eng, was in no holiday mood either. We were informed that he was caught up in back to back meetings, and the day would be as hectic and long like any other day in the agency.
Other CEOs who seemed to be pulling out all the stops were Austen Zecha from ISC Innovators, Quah Seng Chit from Spin Communications, Aaron Cowie from TBWA and Mazuin Zin from Edelman Public Relations Worldwide. They were among the ones we managed to call and connect.
But wait, it’s new year! And for the creative industry, always up to the brim with work, putting one’s feet up a wee bit longer, is simply not a bad idea.
