The Star Media Group (SMG) has teamed up with Visual Retale to flash daily trending news headlines on gigantic high resolution and state-of-the-art digital outdoor boards at three locations in the Klang Valley.
This innovative offering, which covers important and breaking news from The Star’s key sections like Nation, Asean+, StarBiz and Bizweek, is a first in the country. Commuters in the Klang Valley will get to read the flashing news headlines as they head to work or on their return journey home.
This will give them a chance to catch the most important stories during the peak traffic hours. The news headings will be broadcast on the three digital billboards, in 15-minute bursts from 8am to 8.15am and from 6pm to 6.15pm.
SMG chief executive officer Andreas Vogiatzakis said the extension of SMG’s presence in these locations is a natural addition to the group’s omni channel presence.
“We are leveraging on our strengths as Malaysia’s leading English daily and
prominent media group, ” he said, adding that this new, innovative platform also provides added value to Star Media Group’s clients and partners in allowing their brands to reach a wider audience while displaying Star Media Group’s evolution in the digital age.
Located at Jalan Maarof in Bangsar, The Pinnacle along the Federal Highway and KL South on the Old Klang Road, these digital billboards measure 1,157sqm in combined size. They are an additional digital platform that complements The Star’s numerous existing digital platforms.
“This is an exciting time for all of us. With the new year and a new decade, our team at Star Media Group is only getting stronger, as we innovate on more creative ways to bring value to our loyal audiences and to our partners,” Vogiatzakis said.
“It was refreshing to see our idea be embraced and come alive with the fruitful partnership with Visual Retale. Entrepreneurial and visionary, the VR team embraced our call and enabled it to come alive.”
Visual Retale CEO Sailendra Kanagasundram said that “Star Media Group is key in being able to make this magic happen”. “The effort is testament of this. An idea that transforms the OOH (out-of-home) landscape and brings print and digital in one place, for the advantage of our audiences. “We are pleased to be able to bring real dynamism to OOH through our partnership
with Star Media Group,” he said.
