Maxis is introducing a video-on-demand (VOD) service that lets users watch shows from a variety of streaming services, starting at RM3 a day.
The service is available in three packages: a one-day pass for RM3, a seven-day pass for RM7 and 30-day pass for RM15. Purchases are charged to users’ Maxis bill or deducted from their Hotlink credit.
The packages also come with a data top-up to help with the increased consumption from watching videos on the move.
The complimentary data amounts to 3GB for the one-day pass, 5GB for the seven-day pass and 10GB for the 30-day pass.
The service is available to post and pre-paid mobile customers through the MyMaxis, Hotlink Red or Flex app. Maxis TV is not available for Maxis fibre customers.
Maxis customer base management head Navin Manian says the service covers a wide range of content, from local Malay-language content to shows from Hollywood, Korea, India, China and Indonesia.
He adds that Maxis is partnered with VOD content providers including iflix, Mubi, Netflix and YuppTV among others, with plans to add more partners in the future.
